Department of Botany established in the year of 1989. Department targets at providing an environment that encourages, promotes and stimulates the intellectual, professional and personal development of the student. The curriculum caters to the all-round development of the student, preparing globally ready individuals into the fast pacing world. A three year bachelor's degree program in Botany provides the foundation for prospective botanists to pursue a graduate level education or find an entry level career. The Department have well equipped laboratory with modern instruments. The department is enriched with learning resources such as charts, slides, models, herbarium which help the students in independent learning. Department of Botany also have Botanical Garden with various medicinal plants. The botanical excursions are organized in view to study the wild plant diversity, forest ecosystem and to inculcate the research knowledge to the students by visiting Agriculture University, Biodiversity Hotspot, Wildlife Sancturies and National Parks. Department having qualified and experienced faculty. Department of Botany has conducted short term certificate courses like Identification and Uses of Medicinal Plants and Nursery Management. It has approved by Shivaji University, Kolhapur. Every year Department has organizes different activity like Seminar, Workshop, and Environmental Campaign etc. The department has support from Society for Environment and Biodiversity Conservation (NGO) particularly for sustainable environmental practices and Ecotourism training under MOU.
